Aari embroidered stonewash patchwork tapestry wall hangings

The rugged look stonewash patchwork tapestry wall hangings are made from the stone washed aari embroidered patches.
This style of tapestry wall hangings is an example of a modern day embroidery work in combination with hand mirror embroidery work and stonewash to the cloth before hand to enhanse the unique appearance of the cloth. The cloth in this case is first given a stone wash (with pumice stone- traditional method or Enzyme wash- new methods) to give it a rugged/ vintage/ denim look. After that aari machine embroidery is done on them with cotton, woollen, rayon and zari threads and then are decorated with mirror work with the help of hand embroideries. This type of work is majorly done in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttara Khand states of India. Wonderful embroidery patterns are followed with various colors and the introduction of zari enhanses the over all effect. After these borders are made, they are converted to tapestry wall hangings.
